DEFENSEMAN MICHAEL LIPARI SIGNED BY RAIL YARD DAWGS

Defenseman Justin Stevens also signed to remain on roster

MACON, GA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs have announced that defenseman Justin Stevens has been signed to a contract at the conclusion of his three-game tryout contract and defenseman Michael Lipari has been signed to a contract.

Stevens has appeared in three games for the Dawgs and has one goal, two penalty minutes and five shots on goal. The rookie out of Carleton University in Canada scored his first goal as a professional during the first period of Roanoke’s 6-4 loss to the Knoxville Ice Bears on Tuesday.

Lipari joins the Rail Yard Dawgs from the Federal Hockey League’s St. Clair Shores Fighting Saints, where he has ten goals and 30 assists over 39 games played during the 2016-17 campaign. He is in his second professional season out of Michigan State, where he spent four years playing ACHA hockey.

Roanoke also placed defenseman Vinny Llorca on bereavement leave on Thursday.

The Rail Yard Dawgs will hit the ice on the road in Macon on Friday night to take on the Mayhem. Puck drop at the Macon Coliseum is scheduled for 7:35 PM.
