ZACH TATRN TO RETURN TO ROANOKE
Center notched 14 goals over 33 games in 2016-17
ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Thursday that forward Zach Tatrn has been signed to an agreement and will be with the team for training camp in October.
Tatrn opened the 2016-17 season with the Port Huron Prowlers of the Federal Hockey League before signing with Roanoke on January 12. He eventually played in 33 games for the Rail Yard Dawgs and buried 14 goals to go with eight assists. Tatrn finished the season on a hot streak as he notched ten goals in his final 14 games.
“We’re happy to have Zach back for camp,” Rail Yard Dawgs head coach Sam Ftorek said. “He showed a great scoring touch last year and really helped to solidify things down the middle.”
A 26-year-old native of Lower Burrell, Pennsylvania, Tatrn turned pro in 2012-13 after completing his junior hockey career. He spent 2007-2011 playing major junior for the Peterborough Petes of the OHL before finishing his junior eligibility with the Youngstown Phantoms and Corpus Christi Ice Rays in 2011-12. 2017-18 will mark his sixth professional season.
The Rail Yard Dawgs will open training camp in early October and begin the 2017-18 season at home against the Fayetteville Marksmen on October 20.
