TIM BOYLE LOANED TO ECHL WHEELING, PHIL TESORIERO ACTIVATED OFF IR

Matt Chairantano placed on injured reserve, Zach Tatrn signed

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs have announced a series of transactions in advance of Friday night’s game against the Knoxville Ice Bears. Defenseman Tim Boyle has been loaned to the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers, defenseman Phil Tesoriero has been activated off injured reserve, defenseman Matt Chiarantano has been placed on injured reserve and forward Zach Tatrn has been signed to a contract.

Boyle heads to the ECHL for the third time this season, having previously spent eight games with the Norfolk Admirals and one with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. He has yet to record a point in the ECHL and has two goals and five assists over 13 games with Roanoke.

Tesoriero returns to the active roster after missing each of the last eight games. The 29-year old alternate captain last appeared on December 23 in Knoxville. He has recorded two assists over his 17 games with the Dawgs.

Chiarantano has missed the last three games and heads to IR for the second time this season. In eight games played he has one goal and three assists. Tatrn was signed to a three-game tryout contract on January 12. He played in each of the Rail Yard Dawgs three games last weekend and recorded one assist.

Roanoke will begin a stretch of three games in three nights on Friday at home against the Ice Bears. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM at the Berglund Center.
