Game Notes – Roanoke vs. Evansville
The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Saturday that forward Andrew Stacey has been activated from the injured reserve ahead of tonight’s semifinals game against the Evansville Thunderbolts. Additionally the team has released forward Sebastian Smith.
The Dawgs signed Stacey at the end of November, he was previously signed to a PTO contract. The six-foot-one rookie from Toledo, Ohio started his professional career with the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the FPHL during the 2024-25 season. Stacey has notched three goals, four assists and 156 penalty minutes this season for the Dawgs.
Smith was signed to a player tryout contract in late March, he has appeared in four regular season games and three playoff games. Smith tallied one goal in the regular season and one goal and two assists in the post-season. Smith played five seasons of hockey at Adrian College (ACHA). The Pinckney, Michigan native tallied 102 goals and 89 assists in 156 games. The six-foot forward won the Great Lakes Six championship in the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons.
The Dawgs have clinched a spot in the 2026 SPHL President’s Cup Playoffs! Single-game tickets and parking passes are on sale now at Berglund Center box office and online. The Rail Yard Dawgs will face the fourth-seeded Evansville Thunderbolts in a best-of-five semifinal series. Game One will be played Friday, April 17, at Berglund Center at 7:05 P.M. ET. Game Two will be played at Berglund Center on Saturday, April 18, at 7:05 P.M. ET. Game Three is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, at Ford Center at 8:00 P.M. ET. Game Four, if necessary, will also be played at Ford Center in Evansville on Thursday, April 23, at 8:00 P.M. ET. Game Five, if necessary, will return to Berglund Center on Saturday, April 25, at 7:05 P.M. ET. The Dawgs must win the semifinal series to advance to the President’s Cup Final.
