ROANOKE SIGNS DEFENSEMAN BALAZS GOZ

Hungary native will make North American pro debut

 

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Thursday that defenseman Balasz Goz has been signed to a contract. He will be active for the weekend’s set of games with the Mississippi RiverKings.

Goz joins the Rail Yard Dawgs after playing the last three seasons for DVTK Jegesmedvek Erste Liga, a European professional league in Hungary, Romania and Austria. In the 2016-17 season he registered two goals and 12 assists over 37 games played.  During 210 career games in Erste Liga, he has recorded 12 goals and 44 assists.

A 25-year-old native of Miskolc, Hungary, Goz joins a North American pro team for the first time in his career. He and the Rail Yard Dawgs hit the ice on Friday in Southaven against the Mississippi RiverKings. Puck drop at the Landers Center is scheduled for 7:00 PM CST.
