ROANOKE ACTIVATES GUSTAFSSON, ROWLAND OFF IR

Dawgs place Darius Cole and Paul Fregeau on waivers

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Monday that forward John Gustafsson and defenseman Brian Rowland have each been activated off injured reserve. Additionally, forward Darius Cole and defenseman Paul Fregeau have been placed on waivers.

Gustafsson returns to the active roster after missing the last seven games. In 20 games for the Dawgs this season he has netted eight goals and two assists. He opened the season with the Macon Mayhem and put up five goals and three assists over 15 games before joining Roanoke in a trade in December.

Rowland has been on IR since November 8 and has missed 40 of Roanoke’s 44 games this season. The rookie out of Norwich University played in Roanoke’s first four games and has yet to record a point. He was a member of Norwich’s 2016-17 NCAA Division III national championship team.

Fregeau was signed by the Dawgs on Wednesday and played two games for Roanoke, registering no points. Cole has four goals and seven assists in 36 combined games between the Rail Yard Dawgs and Birmingham Bulls this season.

Roanoke returns to the ice on Friday night in Macon against the Mayhem. Puck drop at the Macon Coliseum is scheduled for 7:35 PM.
