RAIL YARD DAWGS SIGN DEFENSEMAN MIKE BAKER

Nick Schneider placed on bereavement leave

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs have placed defenseman Nick Schneider on bereavement leave and signed defenseman Mike Baker to a contract. Additionally, newly acquired forward Riley Spraggs has signed a contract and joined the team in advance of Tuesday night’s game against the Fayetteville FireAntz.

Baker joins the Dawgs from the Federal Hockey League where he had played in 35 games with the Saint Clair Shores Fighting Saints and six with the Port Huron Prowlers. In his 41 games between the two FHL teams, Baker has tallied four goals, 13 assists and 84 penalty minutes. The Oakland University product is appearing in his first professional season.

Schneider had played in all 41 games for the Dawgs and has four goals and 23 assists. His 27 points are tied for the second most on the team.

The Rail Yard Dawgs and FireAntz will tangle for the final time this season on Tuesday at 7:30 PM. Puck drop at Fayetteville’s Crown Coliseum is scheduled for 7:30 PM
