RAIL YARD DAWGS SIGN DEFENSEMAN CAM BAKKER
Defenseman played college hockey at nearby Liberty University
ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Wednesday that defenseman Cam Bakker has been signed to a contract. As a counter, defenseman Anthony Parisi has been placed on injured reserve.
Bakker has played in 20 games for the FHL’s Cornwall Nationals and totaled three goals and 15 assists. This is his first professional season after he played four years of college hockey at nearby Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. Bakker suited up for the Flames from 2011-15 and had 28 goals and 57 assists over his 139 games. He tallied 11 goals, 24 assists and 100 penalty minutes over 38 games during his senior season in 2014-15.
Parisi hits IR after appearing in eight games with the Rail Yard Dawgs. He has yet to record a point but does have two fighting majors along with 18 total penalty minutes in his time skating for Roanoke.
Roanoke returns to action on Friday night on the road in Macon, Georgia against the Macon Mayhem. Puck drop at the Macon Coliseum is scheduled for 7:35 PM. The Dawgs then come home for Super Hero Night against the Birmingham Bulls on Saturday night at 7:05 PM.
