RAIL YARD DAWGS SET PLAYOFF ROSTER BY SIGNING GRANT GARVIN

Riley Spraggs released

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs set their playoff roster on Monday by signing rookie forward Grant Garvin to a full contract. Garvin had played two games for the Dawgs on an amateur tryout. As a counter move, Riley Spraggs was released.

Garvin joined the Dawgs on an ATO on Wednesday and played in each of Roanoke’s two games against the Peoria Rivermen over the weekend. The rookie out of Liberty University put up 25 goals and 49 assists over 36 games during his senior season in 2017-18 and led all of ACHA Division 1 hockey in points and assists.

Spraggs appeared in 49 games for Roanoke and registered 16 goals and 12 assists.

The Rail Yard Dawgs will face the Peoria Rivermen in a best-of-three series in the SPHL’s Challenge Round. Game one is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7 PM at Liberty University’s LaHaye Ice Center in Lynchburg. Tickets for the first playoff game in franchise history will be $13 and can be purchased online via bit.ly/PlayoffGame1. All seating for any playoff games at LaHaye Ice Center will be general admission.
