Macon struck first in the game with just six seconds remaining in the first period. Jake Trask took a pass from the right wing corner and one-timed it past Reichenbach, putting the Mayhem on top, 1-0.

The Mayhem regained the lead late in the second. Macon extracted the puck from a scrum along the right wing boards and worked it to a streaking Ryan Michel on the left side. He carried the puck in, deked to his backhand and beat Reichenbach to make it 2-1.

Macon added to its advantage on a Dennis Sicard goal early in the third. The Rail Yard Dawgs pulled Reichenbach for the extra attacker in the final two minutes and Stathis Soumelidis cashed in with the empty net goal, pushing the lead to 4-1.
