RAIL YARD DAWGS DAWGS CHALLENGED BY PEORIA RIVERMEN

Roanoke will face Peoria in SPHL Challenge Round

ROANOKE, VA – The Peoria Rivermen have challenged the Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. Roanoke and Peoria will play a best-of-three playoff series in the Challenge Round of the SPHL’s Presidents Cup Playoffs.

Roanoke and Peoria will open up the series on Wednesday night at Liberty University’s LaHaye Ice Center. Game one’s puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 PM. The Dawgs and Rivermen will then move the series to Peoria for game two on Friday night at the Owens Center, the Rivermen’s practice arena, at 7:15 PM CDT. Game three, if necessary, will be played on Saturday night at 7:15 PM CDT at the Owens Center.

The Rail Yard Dawgs went 1-4-0 in five meetings with the Rivermen this season. Peoria won the William B. Coffey trophy awarded to the team with the top regular season record. The Rivermen finished with a record of 38-13-5 and 81 points, eight more than any other team in the league. Roanoke went 26-26-4 and finished in eighth place with 56 points.

Tickets for the first playoff game in franchise history will be $13 and can be purchased online via bit.ly/PlayoffGame1. All seating for any playoff games at LaHaye Ice Center will be general admission.
