PHIL BRONNER SIGNED BY RAIL YARD DAWGS

Forward will return for training camp in October

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Tuesday that forward Phil Bronner has been signed to an agreement and will be with the team for training camp in October.

Bronner started the 2016-17 season with the Evansville Thunderbolts where he totaled four goals and seven assists over 25 games. He came to Roanoke in a trade on January 3 and finished the season with the Rail Yard Dawgs, netting five goals and six assists in 35 games.

“Phil fit in nicely after he joined us in January,” Rail Yard Dawgs head coach Sam Ftorek said. “He’s a big body up front that can do a lot of things for you. We’re looking forward to having him in camp.”

A native of Wilbraham, Massachusetts, Bronner played four seasons of NCAA hockey at UMass-Dartmouth before making his pro debut in 2013-14 with the Knoxville Ice Bears. 2017-18 will be his fifth professional season.

The Rail Yard Dawgs will open training camp in early October and begin the 2017-18 season at home against the Fayetteville Marksmen on October 20.
