Mitch Stewart Named the Voice of the Rail Yard Dawgs

Mitch Stewart has been named the Voice of the Rail Yard Dawgs and Media Manager.

Mitch is a native of Roanoke, Virginia where he attended Lord Botetourt High School. Mitch earned his degree in Broadcast Journalism from Penn State. During his undergrad he called games for 11 different varsity sports, including hockey, on the university’s CommRadio. Most recently, Mitch has been assisting with marketing at a local real estate office.

“I’m honored and thankful that the Rail Yard Dawgs are giving me the opportunity to do what I love here in my hometown,” commented Mitch, “I’m very excited to begin working with the team, and my goals are to continue the growth of the team’s brand and build on the foundation of success that the team has achieved within the Roanoke Valley and the SPHL.”

Mitch’s responsibilities will include broadcasting home and away games, relationships with local media, and content creation for marketing and in-game entertainment. His first game in the Dawgs booth will be Friday, October 15 for our Opening Night of the 2021-2022 season.
