MIKE MOROSO, ALEX ROBERTS SIGNED BY ROANOKE

Forwards added to training camp roster

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Tuesday that forwards Mike Moroso and Alex Roberts have been signed to tryout agreements and will be with the team for training camp beginning in the second week of October.

Moroso returns to Roanoke where he was a member of the 2016-17 opening night roster. He played in 36 games during his rookie season before being waived on March 3. The 26-year-old Macomb, Michigan native netted eight goals and dished out nine assists in his time as a Rail Yard Dawg.

“Mike showed some really strong flashes when he was with us last year,” Rail Yard Dawgs head coach Sam Ftorek said. “It was an easy call to invite him to come in and compete in camp.”

Roberts travels to Roanoke following two seasons at Utica College where he played in 44 games and put up nine goals and 13 assists. A forward who stands at 6’3, 205 pounds, he will attempt to make his first professional roster.

“Alex is a big body who showed a nice combination of size and skill in his college days,” Ftorek said. “We’re looking forward to seeing how he fits in.”

The Rail Yard Dawgs will open training camp on October 11 and begin the 2017-18 season at home against the Fayetteville Marksmen on October 20.
