JEFF JONES RETURNS TO THE RAIL YARD DAWGS

The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Wednesday that Jeff Jones has signed to return for Roanoke’s training camp in early October.

Jones played a combined 152 regular season games in four seasons in the SPHL. A native of Revelstoke, British Columbia, the five-foot-nine winger first appeared on the Rail Yard Dawgs roster in the 2018-2019 season. During his two seasons with the Dawgs, Jones netted 38 goals to go along with 33 assists in his 103 regular season appearances. Prior to arriving in Roanoke, Jones spent the 2017-2018 season playing for Brest and Neuilly-sur-Marne in the FFHG in France.

“Jeff is the epitome of a pro,” said Coach Bremner about Jones returning to Roanoke. “He works out relentlessly, he studies the game, and is constantly spending extra time at the rink perfecting small habits and details of his game. I am so grateful, and our team is really lucky to get Jeff back here for another season. Although Jeff is not always the loudest voice in the room, he is someone I can always point to as an example of the right way to do things. He is a natural leader by example. If our guys want to become better hockey players this year, some great advice would be; follow Jeff Jones.”

Roanoke hits the ice for its first home game in 601 days on Friday, October 15 at 7:05 P.M. against the Fayetteville Marksmen. Opening Night is sponsored by Haley Toyota of Roanoke. Season tickets, packages, and group tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting the Dawgs front office at 540-266-7343.
