The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Monday that goaltender Henry Dill has been placed on the 21-day injured reserve list.
Dill got the start between the pipes in Roanoke’s Opening Night loss to Fayetteville on October 15, saving 18 of the 21 shots that he faced. He was scratched in the Dawgs’ 2-0 loss to the Marksmen last Friday night. The six-foot-two goalie played 24 combined regular season games during the 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 seasons for the Rail Yard Dawgs. A native of Columbus, Ohio, Dill registered an 8-8-0 record during his time with Roanoke prior to this season, tallying a .917 save percentage and 2.72 goals allowed average in the 2019-2020 season.
In Dill’s absence, the Rail Yard Dawgs will rely on the other two goalies that are on their active roster – Austyn Roudebush and Brody Claeys. Roudebush got the start on Friday night, saving 25 of 26 shot opportunities he encountered from the Marksmen.
The Dawgs will travel this weekend for the first time in the 2021-2022 season, facing the Birmingham Bulls on Friday night before a Saturday night tilt with the Knoxville Ice Bears. Puck drop in Birmingham is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. EST. Season tickets, packages, group tickets, and single game tickets are on sale now for future home games, and you can listen in on the Haley Toyota Rail Yard Dawgs Hockey Network via Mixlr or watch the Dawgs on HockeyTV.
