Jansen has seven goals, 12 assists, and a plus-three rating this year for the Dawgs, and has been on a seven-game point streak prior to his injury in the January 18 win over Macon. Last season, the Roanoke captain helped Roanoke to its first President’s Cup championship, tallying 19 goals and 30 assists in 55 regular season games, and added a goal and three assists during the postseason. Jansen’s overtime goal in Game Four of the Final clinched the first professional hockey championship in Roanoke since 1987. Since joining the Dawgs during the 2018-2019 season, the White Bear Lake, Minnesota native is the all-time franchise leader in games played (209), goals (74), and points (169).
Picard is in his rookie professional season, notching three goals, two assists, and a plus-four rating in his first eight SPHL games with Roanoke before being released. The winger also tallied 13 goals, 10 assists, 10 penalty minutes, and a minus-five rating in 24 games this season with the FPHL’s Port Huron Prowlers. The Montreal native previously played four years of college hockey, starting at Concordia University (NCAA-DIII) his first two seasons, then transferring to Castleton University (NCAA-DIII) for his final two seasons. In 93 combined collegiate games, the five-foot-eleven forward notched 28 goals, 21 assists, and 42 penalty minutes. Picard played two seasons of junior hockey, with stints in the QJHL, BCHL, MJHL, and the USPHL Premier.
