DAWGS SIGN MATHIAS TELLSTROM TO THREE-GAME CONTRACT

Rookie forward set to make professional debut

 

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Friday that forward Mathias Tellstrom has been signed to a three-game tryout contract. He will be available for Saturday’s clash with the Knoxville Ice Bears.

A native of Linkoping, Sweden, Tellstrom has spent the last two years playing for the Metro Jets of the NA3HL. He appeared in 47 games for the Jets in 2016-17 and totaled 24 goals, 53 assists and a whopping plus-75 plus/minus rating. Metro finished its 2016-17 regular season with an undefeated record of 47-0-0.

During his two seasons in the NA3HL, Tellstrom racked up 53 goals and 99 assists in 88 games.  The 21-year-old winger is set to make his professional debut.

Roanoke returns to action on Saturday night at home against the Knoxville Ice Bears. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 PM at the Berglund Center.
