The Rail Yard Dawgs announced on Wednesday that CJ Stubbs and rookie Logan Fredericks have both been invited to Roanoke’s training camp in early October.
Stubbs scored nine goals and 19 assists in 39 games for the Dawgs during the 2019-20 season. The six-foot-three forward spent the 2020-21 campaign playing for the Columbus River Dragons of the FPHL, where he notched eight goals and 12 assists in just 17 appearances en route to a league title for Columbus.
“As a rookie for the Dawgs in 2019-2020, Stubbs developed into one of our top producers,” said Coach Bremner about Stubbs returning to Roanoke. “Before the season was cut short, Stubbs was consistently contributing to our offense. He is a guy that can take over the game. After winning a championship with Columbus (FPHL) last year, I am excited to see Stubbs come back with even more confidence.”
Fredericks enters this year as a rookie after sitting out the 2020-2021 season. The five-foot-eleven forward spent his collegiate career at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, where we recorded 23 goals and 39 assists in 90 games.
“Logan is a great skater that plays with a ton of energy,” said Coach Bremner when asked about Fredericks. “After taking the COVID-19 season away from the game, I am expecting to see Logan eager to get back into the game and make a difference for us immediately.”
